Terms of service

the shared [us] operates as a rental platform for garments and accessories (the “pieces”). by placing a rental order, you agree to these terms.

1. rentals

each rental is for a defined period selected at checkout.
the rental period begins on the first day of your booking, not the delivery date.
the rental period ends on the final day of your booking, when the piece must be returned or collected.

pieces may be delivered earlier to allow time for try-on and preparation. this does not extend the rental period.

2. availability

availability may vary depending on scheduling, cleaning cycles and previous bookings.
if a scheduling conflict arises after your order is placed, we will contact you to offer either:
a) an alternative piece, or
b) a full refund.
we do not guarantee availability of any piece until your booking is confirmed.

3. delivery & return

deliveries within central london may be arranged via courier or via DHL.
deliveries across the UK are sent via DHL Express.

return instructions are available in the FAQ.
if your return date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, you may return the piece on the next working day.

4. condition of pieces

each piece enters the edit in new condition unless noted as vintage or contemporary vintage.
pieces are professionally cleaned and inspected between rentals.

light signs of wear are expected.
if after the rental piece shows significant damage or visible wear that affects appearance or function, repair or replacement fees may apply.
we always discuss this transparently and aim for repair first.

5. late returns

pieces must be returned on the final day of your rental period.
late returns that affect another member’s confirmed booking may incur a daily late fee.
please contact [us] via members’ whatsapp if you need additional time — communication allows [us] to accommodate where possible.

6. cancellations & refunds

once a rental is confirmed, bookings are generally non-refundable, as the piece is reserved exclusively for your dates.

if a piece cannot be provided due to availability or condition, we will offer:
a) an alternative piece, or
b) a full refund.

refunds are processed to the original payment method. timing depends on your payment provider and is outside our control.

7. membership

the shared [us] is a by-invitation community.
at this stage, membership is extended through referral.
we are reviewing our admission policy gradually.

8. liability

we are not responsible for any personal or third-party damage caused during use of the pieces.
you are responsible for the piece during your rental period.

9. authenticity

the shared [us] is an independent platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the brands featured.
all pieces are authentic and sourced through official retail channels.

10. jurisdiction

these terms are governed under the laws of England & Wales.
